First eFoil lesson
Deel
To begin, let me introduce myself. I'm Devin de Wilde and I've been working for Flying Fish since January 2021. My main focus is on the online aspect, specifically the website. When I first saw the job opening, I had no idea what eFoiling actually entailed. I started at Flying Fish in the winter, and of course, it was far too cold to get in the water. By working on the website and seeing many images and videos, I became very curious about what it would be like, but unfortunately, I had to wait a bit longer.
Recently, the time finally came. The sun was shining, and instructors were out eFoiling. I was working outside in the sun on the pier. Titus, our eFoil school manager, was giving instructions and called out to me, asking if I wanted to try eFoiling. I have no surfing experience, only snowboarding experience, so I was very curious how it would go. It turns out that eFoiling isn't too difficult, which is precisely what makes it so much fun. Because you learn the basics easily, you can quickly surf across the water. I eFoiled at the Nieuwe Meer location, which is also where our office is located. Nieuwe Meer is a beautiful location where you have plenty of space on the water to practice eFoiling. After the eFoil lesson, you can dry off in the sun on the pier and enjoy a drink.
I would recommend eFoiling to everyone. It's a fun activity and something different from an afternoon of laser gaming or go-karting. It's also great to do with a group of friends or as a company outing. Efoiling is accessible to everyone, and lessons show that everyone can stand within half an hour. Foiling out of the water is more difficult, but that's a nice challenge!
Hope to see you soon for an eFoil lesson,
Devin de Wilde
